Faces of Conflict: Security Challenges in a Changing World

  • Date: 21 October 12:00 - 17:00
  • Location: Sociëteit de Witte

We are pleased to announce that JASON will be hosting an engaging and interactive conference: ‘Faces of Conflict: Security Challenges in a Changing World’ on the 21st of October from 12:00-17:00 at Sociëteit de Witte in The Hague! Over 45 years ago the JASON Institute for Peace and Security Studies was established to inform students and young professionals on matters of international peace and security.

Conflicts nowadays come in many shapes and forms – our modern world provides a landscape for many actors and interests to merge. Therefore, our conference will address the different angles, perspectives and facets of modern conflicts as experts of several fields crucial to modern day security will join us to give their insights on nuclear weapons, frozen conflicts, and disinformation in conflict.

We are happy to share that our lineup of speakers will include Gwenda Nielen and Katria Tomko to speak on information manipulation in conflict. On nuclear weapons Marjolijn van Deelen and Susi Snyder will offer their insights. Meanwhile Frans Osinga and Sabine Mengelberg will offer engaging keynote contributions on contemporary conflict and security infrastructures. We are also pleased to have Willemijn Aerdts moderating the conference. Plus, lunch, a goodie bag, and borrel are included during the event!

It will be a relevant and engaging discussion on conflict and their connection to international and European security, so be sure to register!
