Theater play 'My Wife'

What happens when a grown man has not yet processed his trauma and takes it out on his partner? Step into the story behind closed doors in which Mingus (Waikuma Pentury) fights his own demons and Joyce (Jennie Cruz) becomes a victim of his destructive behavior. A story where loyalty and love are pitted against one's own strength and self-worth.

With a mix of drama, emotion, dance and a touch of hope, you get to see a fragment of their lives, where love becomes entangled in the darkness of unprocessed trauma.

Each moment will touch you deeper than the last as you witness their emotional struggles and the impact of domestic violence.

Maker Waikuma Pentury

Waikuma Pentury has Moluccan and Papuan roots. He has one foot in the performing dance field and the other in starting a career as a theater and dance maker. His reality and living environment are the starting point for all his work. His roots have shaped him into a person with traditional values and outlook on male-female relationships. He comes from a family where the roles were also divided that way. It was a violent place. This violence made him look for a way out. He found that outside the home in dance and martial arts. Now, after a considerable journey into healthy adulthood, it feels like his job to bring the universal story of domestic violence to the stage. The unheard voice of (young & adult) victims of domestic violence.

To share the real feeling and story of the associated toxic combination of feelings of insecurity, love and mistrust. To that end, he plans to use his background in dance and martial arts.
Meanwhile, he has grown not only personally, but also as a professional by performing in various pieces by Don't Hit Mama, Backbone, What We Do and Theater Rotterdam, among others.

From birth, Cherinda knew she had limited life expectancy due to her disease called: Cystic Fibrosis. As such, she lives day by day. Just before her 26th birthday, everything came to a head. What do you do when you run out of time? How do you deal with life and death? How do you make sure you don't lose yourself, fight after fight?
