Hike in the Hague

  • Date: 03 June
  • Location: The Hague City Centre

Join our Hike in the Hague on June 3 and discover the Rule of Law in the Hague!

On Saturday June 3, several institutions will throw open their doors to the public, to give guests a behind-the-scenes peek into the world of rule of law in The Netherlands: our system for ensuring an orderly and just society. Come visit the Academy of Law and Jurists, the Senate, the House of Representatives; the Supreme Court, the Cabinet of the King; the National Archives, the Council for the Judiciary, and the Council of State! This is not only an interesting opportunity to hear more from these institutions, but also to be able to see inside their beautiful buildings.

To mark the occasion, Just Peace The Hague is organising two tours to guide you through the legal capital of the world. Together with a knowledgeable guide, you’ll explore how the rule of law in the Netherlands is upheld. Immerse yourself in stories and information about the democratic constitutional state. What does that mean in practice? And how have we shaped it? How does a law come about? Who controls the government? How does our judicial system work? Walk along with us and take this opportunity to enter the Netherlands most important institutions and Hike in The Hague!

Please be advised that the spoken language throughout this tour will be English!

Please note that the tour will be given two times: one in the morning (11:00-13:00) and one in the afternoon (14:00-16:00).
